Submit Policy Resolutions to the Constitutional Convention

The AFSA Resolutions Committee is now accepting policy resolutions for the 17th Triennial Constitutional Convention, which will take place July 24–27, 2025, in Las Vegas. The deadline for submission is April 16, 2025.

This year’s convention will provide an opportunity for AFSA members to drive the union's agenda by submitting resolutions that address key issues affecting school leaders, local unions and the communities they serve. The resolutions passed at the convention will help define AFSA’s priorities and actions in the years to come.

All submitted resolutions will undergo a review process by the AFSA Resolutions Committee. Resolutions that receive approval will be forwarded to the General Executive Board (GEB) for final approval. Those endorsed by the GEB will be presented for adoption during the convention.

Four resolutions from the 2022 convention have already been recommended for continuation by AFSA officers and the GEB. These resolutions include:

  • Threats and Assaults Against School Supervisors and Administrators
  • Building Worker Power to Enhance Organizing
  • School Leader Wellness Support
  • Enhancing School Safety/Stopping Gun Violence

Resolutions should be submitted to TakeAction@TheSchoolLeader.org for consideration by the committee.

This process is vital to ensuring that AFSA's policies accurately reflect the evolving needs and priorities of school leaders across the country.
